Best of Enemies Productions, LLC owns the rights to the book, The Best of Enemies: Race and Redemption in the New South, a 1997 Pulitzer Prize Nominee by Osha Gray Davidson. BEP has right of first refusal for this title. The Best of Enemies has just been re-released in paperback in 2007 and has been chosen as Summer Reading for the Duke University Incoming Class of 2011 due to its connection with Durham, N.C.

The story of Ann Atwater, a civil rights activist, and Claiborne Paul Ellis, an Exalted Cyclops of the KKK, was discussed in Studs Terkel’s book, Race. The story was also explored in the 2003 documentary, An Unlikely Friendship, by noted documentary film producer, Diane Bloom.
